Is it just me or is that guy casting way too far too often? Serious question.

Beautiful vid, nicely told story.

I think the long casting is probably explained by editing choices. Long casts are pretty, especially reaching out over that beautiful water. It seems like a story, rather than a how-to.

Maybe he worked his way out there 10 feet at a time--- and that hit the cutting room floor.

Rich Zellman is a seriously good stick.  While shooting SM2, he hung out with us and I was impressed by his poise.  Confident guy for his age.   Beautiful caster.  No doubt the long casts were for visual effect.  Scott called him on of the best casters he's ever seen.
