I was recently asked by SAGE to produce some video clips focusing on Winter and Summer Steelhead fishing tactics. During the process I was fortunate to use a new SAGE Mod 7130 featuring Konnetic Technology. The rod sports a deeper flex than the other Sage spey rod models, making it an efficient tool for casting sink tips and short Skagit Style lines. Combine the Konnetic Technology with that deeper flex and you have in your hands a powerful, light and responsive Spey rod sending you the feed back you need to make perfectly smooth casts, time after time. When you slap a Scandi style line on the stick, it's just butter....Check one out if you can:

cast the 6 wt at Sandy Clave - totally awesome feel and casting rod - now if I only had a spare $1100 or so!!!  Really love the slower progressive action - it just launches!!!

I really want to check out the MOD. Sounds like it has some soul, anyone know how it would compare to say my beloved B2X 7133?

This rod has soul.  It is different than the Winston boron version...way different. It's not built for heavy work, but it will jack t-14 and t-17 just fine....It's a great combination of new technology and old school flex. 460-485  grains in the head rocks.
